Omaha #2
Pebbles and John took us to Zio's, a New York Style pizzeria. It was so good! The waitress messed up our order and brought out hamburger/pepperoni pizza. It was SO gross. Who eats hamburger on their pizza? But once our pineapple and pepperoni pizza came out, we were all happy. We even went back the next day for lunch!
We didn't plan on this, but we ended up paying a visit to the hospital. We had to rush (literally) Matt to the emergency room! It was so scary. I thought he was going to have a heart attack since his chest was hurting, his face was going numb and he was ready to faint! He was a little sick before we left and it hit its peak on our second day. Poor guy. But he didn't let it get him down. The doctors said he had a minor respiratory infection and acute pneumonia! Yikes. Luckily no one else got sick. I think we would have stayed home if we knew this was wrong with him! The day before we left we went to the hospital but the doctors couldn't figure out what was wrong with him so they sent him home with Zofran and told him to drink lots of fluids and rest, it would pass in a couple days...yeah right. Another thing that didn’t help the situation was when we arrived to the hospital in Omaha the receptionist had LONG claw-acrylic nails and couldn’t type Matt’s info fast enough. She had to type with her index finger and look at the keyboard as she typed. Aren’t there like 50 WPM requirements when you apply for a job? The nurses were a bunch of downers too. Not fun.
But luckily we had these cute kids to hang out with after. I took Nahoa to the Botanical Gardens while Pebbles was at a Church Leadership meeting (new Primary President) and John and Matt were golfing. He is such a SWEET kid and he has a voice that is so cute. I'll have to post a short clip.
He would pose right on cue everytime I took a picture of him. Here is his "Flash" picture (he's so fast he's blurry in pictures).
On Saturday night we went to Hiro, a Japanese and sushi restaurant. It was excellent.
Here's little Miss Miya. She is SO cute and we loved seeing her. She reminds me of my sister SO much, it's hiliarious.
We HAD to make a stop at Wheatfields. The last time I visited they had the best cookies. YUM!
We were even on Tornado watch while visiting. The next morning my sister and I were driving to the store and I took this picture on my phone. Luckily it was just a funny shaped cloud (see it in the distance?)
Bowling is always fun. Nahoa LOVEs going to "rolling ball school"
This was a pretty old school alley. Notice in the top 2 pictures the lanes are empty but there are lots of people not bowling? They were having a bowling league tournament on all the lanes but 2, the 2 we were on. It felt like everyone was watching us since they were eating but we were bowling. Embarrassing.
This was a really good restaurant. It's mostly a brewery with adults, but the food is really good. Since we had kids with us the host stuck us in the back corner away from the beer. It was nice.
Pebbles and John with the kids. Don't you love Miya's smile? She does this everytime you tell her to smile for a picture. So funny.
Matt LOVES Miya. It's the cutest thing.
On our last day we walked over the Pedestrian Bridge which people call "Bob." Nahoa brought his 'scooter bike' and Matt helped by pushing him.
Now Matt can say he's been to Nebraska and Iowa ;) Posted by Mrs. O at 11:30 AM 6 comments
