Hawaii

Today Matt and I are flying to Hawaii for my Grandma Tano's funeral. Although we would have hoped our first trip to Hawaii together would be under different circumstances, we are still grateful for this opportunity to reunite with friends and family.

My Grandma was an amazing and inspiring woman. A mother of 8 children, and grandmother to 35 grandchildren, 57 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. I found this site my cousin created last year. It is a brief biography of Grandma Tano's life. What a legacy she has left.

Livin' On Luv

Happy Valentine's Day! Earlier in the week I bought flowers to make arrangements to give my mom and mother-in-law for V-day. Mom wasn't able to make it up after all so I told her I'd post a picture of the finished arrangement. Y
Peruvian Lilies, Snapdragons, Roses

This was our first Valentines as a married couple. It was such a fun day for Matt and me. It was his year to plan (our 3rd together) and he planned a wonderful Valentines weekend in Salt Lake!

Matt is such a great husband. He always massages my back when I ask and to help me fall asleep. So for Valentines he treated me to a massage at Massage Envy in Salt Lake. It was WONDERFUL! It went by so fast and Matt was a good sport to wait for me.

For dinner we ate at the Naked Fish restaurant. The food was delicious!

Matt riding Trax in downtown SLC on our way the The Gateway for a little shopping.

Since dinner was so early we ordered pizza once we returned to our hotel.

Pineapple & pepperoni. The pizza was soooo good.

Okonomiyaki

Last weekend my cousins Brett & Bryce hosted an okonomiyaki party at their apartment. Matt was sooo excited. Okonomiyaki is like a Japanese pancake made with cabbage, eggs, flour, water, veggies and meat, fish or chicken (pretty much whatever you think will taste good)...yummy!

It is actually very tasty.

Chef Brett was nice enough to cook me and Matt's pieces; and for seconds Bryce (not pictured) cooked us more!

Our friends, the Marises (he is from Matt's mish), joined us too! Matt could hardly wait to eat his okonomiyaki.

Mmmm...yummy ^-^ (Kyuupi mayo: white ~ Okonomiyaki sauce: Red-orange)

I think this was our 3rd serving. We ate a TON...very un-Japanese-like.

Mmmmm Pizza...

Last weekend Matt and I went to Olive Garden with my cousins who were in from Hawaii. There aren't any Olive Garden restaurants in Hawaii so we had to hit it up over here. Matt and I weren't too excited but we went any and found this:

Tasty Pizza! It was so yummy and surprisingly Matt thought so, too. It wasn't too heavy and the vegetables were fresh tasting and a little crunchy, which I like.
