This year I decided to throw Matt his very own birthday party. It just so happened my family would be in town on his birthday too! My sister and her family were in from Nebraska so I thought it would be a grand idea to combine Matt and Miya's (my niece, to be 1 year old in August) birthdays!
It was so fun to have Matt's family over for his b-day. My mom, sisters and I cooked all the food I had been craving (but I was waiting for them to come up and cook for me ;)).

We had mostly Hawaiian kind of food. (Kalbi chicken, ribs, rice, mac salad, sour cream jello, shave ice, etc.)Jess made good Pani popo...mmmmmm
My mom and I (mostly my mom) made this cute 1 year cake for Miya.
Pebbles and I quickly made this guava cake for Matt.
I also tried this new recipe for Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cream Pie...I was a fan of it. I don't know about anyone else ;)

Miya was so cute. We gave her a slice to "dig" into and get messy, but being the girly-girl she is she was a little hesitant and just poked it with her index finger. We finally had to get a fork and feed her. Happy Birthday to Matt & Miya! Thanks for comin' everyone!
